Trauma is the leading cause of death and disability for people up to the age of 44. Without trauma centers, many of these lives would be lost. Research has proven a decrease in morbidity and mortality rates for patients treated in a trauma center by as much as 25 percent.

Kansas Surgical Consultants proudly collaborates with Wesley Medical Center to offer Trauma and Acute Care services. Wesley is verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT) as a Level I Trauma Center, the highest level of verification a trauma center can obtain.

Wesley provides world-class facilities by ground and air ambulances from across Kansas and northern Oklahoma with highly trained and experienced trauma surgeons in-house 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The medical center has collected data on its trauma patients since July 1989, and now has one of the largest trauma registries in the State of Kansas (patient confidentiality is maintained during all aspects of data collection and reporting).
