Medical Assistant

Kansas Surgical Consultants has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Assistant. This role will support surgical clinic functions and registered nurse services. Primary duties include:

· Prepare charts for upcoming patient visits by requesting and obtaining necessary data and reports. Enter appropriate chart documentation prior to patient visit.

· Room patients, obtain appropriate vitals, patient history and prepare patient for exam.

· Assists with autoclave, pans and instruments sterilization and laundering of gowns.

· Cleans patient rooms and prepares biohazard items for pick up.

· Documents in EMR accurate and appropriate patient information.

· Upload ultrasound images into patients chart as needed.

· Assist nurse with various clinical duties and patient phone calls.

· Prep patients for office procedures, biopsies, FNA’s, etc.

· Assist physician with patients during visit/exam.

· Schedules appointments, tests, procedures, surgeries, etc. as needed.

· Inform patient with all instructions regarding upcoming appointments or procedures.

· Completes FMLA, attending physician statements, work releases, etc.

· Stock supplies in all rooms

Registered or Certified Medical Assistant is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a proficient knowledge of medical terminology and surgical experience is preferred.
