R. Joe Sliter is from Hartford, Kansas. He attended Emporia State University and later received his medical degree from The University of Kansas. He then completed general surgery residency at The University of Kansas in Wichita. He also completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr Sliter practices emergency general surgery, trauma surgery, and critical care medicine. He is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Aside from his clinical practice, Dr Sliter is interested in traumatic injury prevention and care in the Wichita community.
